Speaking at the Science and Technology Policy Thematic Forum in Shanghai, Director‑General Dr Mlungisi Cele described the country’s system as “relatively strong, given its size”, but said it nevertheless offered scope to improve the flow of talent into research and innovation.
“While our system is relatively strong, given its size, there is an opportunity to strengthen our talent pipeline,” said Dr Mlungisi Cele.
