The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, will hold a Tiranga-themed charity concert titled "Rhythms of Freedom" on 15 August from 5 p.m. at the NEZCC Stone Sculpture Garden. The event, organised as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, will funnel 100% of ticket proceeds towards relief for families displaced or affected by recent natural disasters in Nagaland.

Fundraising and access

Tickets for the concert have been priced at ₹100. Purchases can be made online via Ahibi.in or at the venue on the day of the event. NEZCC officials have also provided digital donation links and said contributions can be made through the centre’s social media channels for those unable to attend in person.

Purpose and local context

NEZCC Dimapur director Alobo Naga described the programme as more than a cultural observance, positioning it as a relief initiative to support people affected by landslides, flash floods and other calamities in recent months. Commenting on the human cost of the disasters, he said:

"Landslides, flash floods and other calamities in recent months have displaced thousands, destroyed homes and disrupted livelihoods. Behind every statistic is a family, a story that deserves our compassion."

Organisers said funds raised will be directed to families across the state who continue to face hardship following the incidents. No specific beneficiary list or distribution mechanism was announced at the press briefing; NEZCC stated details on relief disbursal will be released ahead of the event.

Programme and participants

A number of local artistes and community groups are scheduled to perform without remuneration in support of the initiative. The lineup brings together contemporary musicians, choirs, traditional performers and a comedian to offer a mix of entertainment under the unifying theme of the tricolour.

  • Featured artistes and groups include Nise Meruno, Sunep Lemtur, Hentok Konyak, Colored Keys and Lenen Jamir.
  • Choirs such as Cantamus Choir and Tetso College Choir will be part of the bill, along with bands like 5 Minutes Band and vocal ensembles Musik-A Voice Teachers.
  • Comedian Hopong Naga is also listed among performers, and the programme will include community cultural presentations from multiple groups based in Dimapur.

Community involvement and amenities

To emphasise inclusivity and the idea of unity in diversity, organisers said cultural segments will feature performances by groups representing the Marwari, Bihari, Bengali, Tibetan-Bhutia, Nepali, Gorkha, Dimasa, Punjabi and Muslim communities. The event will also be family-friendly: a children’s zone has been planned and local vendors will offer food and beverages.

The Nagaland Street Food Vendors Association will run food stalls and Nagaland Coffee will provide beverages. NEZCC indicated similar events will be hosted at various locations across the Northeast under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, including an event at Shilpgram in Guwahati to coincide with Independence Day and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day observances.

What attendees should know

  • Carry a valid ticket (physical or e-ticket) for entry; gates open ahead of the 5 p.m. start.
  • Organisers have not published the detailed relief-disbursement plan; attendees seeking clarification were advised to follow NEZCC official channels for updates.
  • Those unable to be present can donate using the NEZCC donation links on social media.

NEZCC said the fundraiser seeks to combine celebration and civic support on a day of national significance, while also drawing attention to ongoing recovery needs in parts of Nagaland affected by recent environmental events.
