Peel police say a man in his 20s was killed and three other people were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision early Sunday morning in Brampton.
Crash at The Gore Road intersection
Officers were called to the scene near The Gore Road and Castle Oaks Crossing at about 1:10 a.m., where an SUV and a minivan had collided, police said in a post on X.
Investigators say evidence so far indicates both vehicles were travelling south on The Gore Road when the SUV "
made contact" with the minivan. Peel police say the SUV lost control and rolled, and the male driver was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency response and traffic impacts
Peel Region and York Region paramedics attended the collision. Three other people were transported to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Police asked residents to avoid the area while the scene was cleared, noting road closures along The Gore Road between Gardenbrooke Trail and Castle Oaks Crossing.
What investigators will examine
At this stage, police have released limited detail about the sequence of events leading to the crash. Collision investigators typically examine a range of factors, including vehicle speeds, point of impact, skid marks and witness statements, as well as the mechanical condition of the vehicles involved and whether alcohol, drugs or driver impairment played any role.
