Global healthcare tech firm expands in Kerala capital
HealthEdge, a US-headquartered healthcare technology company backed by Bain Capital, on Thursday inaugurated a new campus at Brigade Square in Technopark – Phase 1, Thiruvananthapuram. The facility occupies about 1.62 lakh sq. ft. across 11 floors of the 2 lakh sq. ft. building and is designed to accommodate approximately 1,500 employees, the company said.
The new campus brings together teams across engineering, product development, technology, operations and corporate functions, reflecting HealthEdge’s strategy to consolidate its India operations after the merger of HealthEdge and UST HealthProof under the HealthEdge brand, according to a BusinessWire India release published from Thiruvananthapuram.
“Thiruvananthapuram has emerged as one of India’s most compelling destinations for global technology companies, and this campus reflects our long-term commitment to the city,”
said Kevin Adams, Chief Executive Officer of HealthEdge, as quoted in the release. He added that teams in India are central to the firm’s work on AI, engineering and product development.
Local commercial development and commitments
Brigade Group, the developer of Brigade Square, said the lease of the majority of the building to HealthEdge validates Thiruvananthapuram’s potential as a technology destination and will contribute to creation of high-quality employment and strengthen the wider business ecosystem.
In a comment included with the developer's statement, Nirupa Shankar, Joint Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises, said that having a global healthcare technology company as a key occupier is a strong validation of the city’s appeal.
Brigade Square forms part of Brigade Group’s broader engagement with Kerala: the developer has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Kerala to develop a 2 million sq. ft. World Trade Center within Technopark Phase 1, a move that would further increase commercial office stock in the campus precinct, the developer said.
What the campus includes
The company said the new facility was designed to support collaboration and employee experience. Amenities listed in company material include:
- an executive floor with boardroom, meeting rooms and executive dining;
- a dedicated cafeteria;
- training rooms and collaborative workspaces;
- wellness rooms and a mothers’ room.

Regional significance and employment
The expansion underlines HealthEdge’s continued investment in India. The company operates in seven Indian cities: Chennai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. The Thiruvananthapuram campus marks the continuation of a presence in Kerala that evolved from UST HealthProof into HealthEdge following corporate consolidation.
Local economic analysts and industry contacts have frequently cited Technopark as a key node in Kerala’s technology ecosystem, offering proximity to talent graduating from city institutions and established IT firms. The arrival of a specialised healthcare-technology employer with advanced capabilities in AI and payer-platform services is likely to generate specialised roles in software engineering, product management and operations.
HealthEdge said its software and services support health plans in claims administration, payment accuracy, care management, risk adjustment and provider data management. The company serves more than 110 million covered lives in the United States and is expanding its global footprint across the United States, Philippines, Mexico and India.
Recruitment for the Thiruvananthapuram campus will be handled through the company’s regular channels, the release said.
As Technopark continues to add commercial space and as developers pursue larger projects such as the proposed World Trade Center, city planners and industry stakeholders will be watching whether the growth translates into durable, local employment and associated services in the Kerala capital.
