Acumatica establishes Hyderabad GCC to accelerate product engineering and hiring
Cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider Acumatica on Monday opened a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking the company's first dedicated engineering hub in India. The centre began operations with 30 employees and the company said additional hires will join in the coming months.
Acumatica's Hyderabad facility joins its existing operations in the United States, Canada, Serbia and Sri Lanka. Initially focused on engineering, the new centre is intended to support product innovation and, over time, to expand into other disciplines as regional growth demands evolve, the company said.
“The GCC will be the core of the company’s growth engine in India,” Acumatica chief engineering officer Miten Mehta said, according to the company.
The Hyderabad centre has been set up in partnership with ANSR company Summit Consulting Services, which will support local operations and talent mobilisation. Acumatica described the GCC as a strategic move to augment its global product and engineering capabilities while tapping into India’s skilled workforce.
Local context and implications for Hyderabad's tech ecosystem
Hyderabad, already a major IT and start-up hub in the southern region, has seen sustained interest from global software firms setting up engineering and delivery centres. The arrival of Acumatica, a specialist in cloud ERP for small and mid-sized enterprises, adds to this trend and highlights the city’s continued pull for product engineering roles.
Short-term impacts are expected around recruitment and contractor engagements as the centre ramps up. In the medium term, the GCC can deepen local expertise in cloud ERP platforms, potentially supporting partnerships with regional system integrators, channel partners and local services firms.
- Initial headcount: 30 employees at launch
- Scope at start: Engineering-focused; other functions to be added over time
- Partnership: Set up with ANSR company Summit Consulting Services
Operational footprint and growth signals
Acumatica operates across multiple countries and described the Hyderabad GCC as an element of its global delivery and innovation network. The company framed the centre as a long-term growth engine for India, signalling plans to invest in talent and product development rather than short-term delivery roles alone.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Launch headcount | 30 employees |
| Primary focus | Engineering (cloud ERP product innovation) |
| Partner | Summit Consulting Services (ANSR company) |
| Other locations | U.S., Canada, Serbia, Sri Lanka |
For Hyderabad's labour market, the GCC offers new openings for software engineers, cloud specialists and product developers. Given the company's stated intent to expand into additional disciplines, potential roles could eventually include quality assurance, DevOps, product management and customer support, although the company has not provided a detailed hiring roadmap.
Industry observers say such centres help deepen the ecosystem by creating demand for trained engineers and by fostering collaborations between multinational firms and local training institutes. For a city balancing rapid growth with infrastructure and talent challenges, the expansion of product-led operations offers both opportunities and competitive pressure for local employers seeking skilled personnel.
Acumatica's announcement adds to a steady stream of global firms choosing Hyderabad as a base for engineering and delivery work. The pace and scale of hiring at the GCC will determine how significant an employer the company becomes in the city over the next 12–24 months.
