Workers on the night shift are reported to have fled the premises in panic when flames and smoke spread through the lift and parts of the factory. Fire personnel reached the site after the company alerted them, and subsequently controlled the blaze. Sources indicated that the two technicians succumbed to smoke inhalation while trapped inside the lift.
Police said CCTV footage and witness statements from employees on duty are being examined to establish a definitive sequence of events leading up to the explosion and subsequent fire. The involvement of a boiler and a short circuit is part of the preliminary timeline but investigators have not yet concluded on the proximate causes or on any safety lapses at the facility.
The incident brings renewed focus to industrial safety standards at one of Warangal district's major employment hubs. The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park hosts multiple units and is a key part of the region's textile ecosystem that administration bodies promote for jobs and investment in the Telangana state's manufacturing push. TGIIC's engagement and the company’s assurance of statutory compensation will be closely watched by labour and civic groups while the criminal probe continues.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further administrative or legal action against the company; the outcome of the police investigation and any subsequent departmental inquiries will determine if regulatory penalties or prosecutions follow.
