OXFORD, Ohio — Miami University announced a multi-year extension of its contract with adidas and revealed a new partnership with BSN SPORTS that will provide distribution and a large volume of athletic equipment and apparel for RedHawk teams.

Continuation of an established apparel relationship

The extension sustains a collaboration between Miami Athletics and adidas that began in 2009. Under the renewed agreement, adidas will continue as the primary outfitter for Miami’s varsity programs, supplying uniforms, practice apparel and licensed fan merchandise.

BSN SPORTS added to broaden supply and distribution

In a move to broaden procurement and logistics capabilities, Miami Athletics said it has retained BSN SPORTS as a high-volume supplier. The university said the BSN relationship will provide access to more than 10,000 products across sports and will leverage BSN’s manufacturing and distribution network that serves more than 1,100 collegiate partners worldwide.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with adidas into the future,” said Miami Director of Athletics David Sayler.

The school said BSN SPORTS will work closely with adidas and Miami Athletics to streamline ordering and customer service for teams, staff and fans. Officials described the arrangement as intended to ensure consistency in equipment quality and simplify procurement touchpoints for coaches and athletic department personnel.

Commercial and fan-facing implications

As part of the announcement, Miami said it will offer exclusive adidas-branded gear to RedHawks supporters for a limited period and that additional promotional programs are planned across the 2026-27 athletic calendar. The partnerships are presented as ways to enhance the experience for athletes, staff and the university’s fan community.

  • Adidas: Primary apparel and outfitter partner; relationship with Miami since 2009.
  • BSN SPORTS: New high-volume supplier; more than 10,000 products and national collegiate distribution capacity.
  • Fans: Limited-time exclusive items and future promotions announced for the 2026-27 season.

Miami Director of Athletics David Sayler framed the deals as investments in competitive preparation and representation that will provide student-athletes with high-quality apparel and gear as they compete. Todd Northrop, senior vice president of BSN SPORTS’ collegiate and pro select divisions, also commented on the collaboration process, noting work with Sayler and other Miami administrators to identify needs and scale support for the future.

The announcement situates Miami among many collegiate programs that manage apparel rights and supply chains through national brands and distributors. For universities, such agreements affect budgeting for equipment, timelines for uniform rollouts and the availability of licensed merchandise to fans. They also can influence marketing and fundraising activities tied to team branding and visibility.

In background material included with the release, adidas was presented as a global sporting goods company headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, employing roughly 65,000 people and reporting sales of €24.8 billion in 2025. BSN SPORTS was described as a leading distributor and manufacturer of sporting goods apparel and equipment focused on serving collegiate partners nationwide.

Miami’s athletic department said the partnerships will be phased in and that more information about promotional offers and specific product launches will be shared with fans and campus stakeholders ahead of the 2026-27 season.
