Yotta Automated Software Solutions (YASSI) opened a new Technology Innovation Center in Chicago on Thursday, positioning the company to accelerate development of its enterprise Vehicle Intelligence Platform and scale services that rely on real-time vehicle data nationwide.

Engineering hub aimed at scale and speed

The office, located in Two Prudential Plaza in Chicago’s East Loop, will function as a core product and engineering hub as YASSI expands the technical infrastructure behind analytics, fraud detection and data services for customers across the country. Company executives framed the move as part of a broader push to improve reliability, throughput and product breadth as demand for vehicle intelligence grows.

Under the leadership of co-founder and chief technology officer Patrick Brown, the Chicago team will focus on hardening fraud-detection models and extending data capabilities inside YASSI’s VIN360 product, while increasing the capacity and reliability of the company’s Easy-Connect API as usage grows.

"In this business, speed matters," Brown said. "Chicago gives us the engineering talent and proximity to customers nationwide to keep moving at that pace."

Platform growth and certifications

YASSI has been expanding its platform footprint and regulatory compliance posture in recent months. The company reported its real-time Department of Motor Vehicles data network now spans 46 states, and it has reiterated that its platform has obtained SOC 2 Type II certification, signaling controls over data security and operational reliability.

Recent platform initiatives Purpose
Real-time DMV data network (46 states) Broaden coverage for vehicle records and verification
Easy-Connect API Enable integrations between YASSI intelligence and customer systems
VIN360 Consolidate vehicle information into a single intelligence solution
SOC 2 Type II Affirm data and operational security controls

Market context and customer integration

YASSI positions itself as an enterprise provider of vehicle intelligence—data and services used by dealerships, insurers, fleets, public agencies and other organizations that need verified vehicle histories, registration data and fraud detection. By locating a development center in Chicago, the company is seeking both talent and proximity to customers and partners in the central U.S., which executives say will shorten development cycles and ease integration work.

Chief executive and founder Bob Rieger described the expansion as part of a long-term investment in technology and people to support the industry’s shift toward real-time, trusted vehicle data.

"We're building YASSI for the future of an industry that increasingly depends on trusted, real-time vehicle intelligence," Rieger said. "Chicago expands our ability to lead that evolution and continue raising the standard for how vehicle information is used across the industry."
  • Engineering priorities: scaling APIs, improving fraud models, expanding data capabilities in VIN360.
  • Coverage: a real-time DMV data network that the company says now touches 46 states.
  • Security posture: SOC 2 Type II certification to support enterprise customers.

The move reflects a broader industry trend in which companies that aggregate and analyze vehicle-level data are investing in engineering and compliance to meet enterprise expectations for uptime, security and integration. As transportation and commerce become more data-driven, the reach and reliability of platforms that provide verified, near-real-time vehicle information are likely to shape how dealerships, insurers and regulators use those data streams.

YASSI’s Chicago center will be an operational node in that effort, combining product development and customer integration work aimed at shortening the time between product development and deployment for customers nationwide.
