Metropolitan Police Department Sixth District officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. Friday to the 1900 block of 18th Street SE, where they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel performed life-saving measures at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead before he could be transported, authorities said.
