Integrated 3S facility to serve electric commercial fleets in Kanpur
Kanpur — EKA Mobility on Monday inaugurated its first all-range commercial vehicle dealership in Kanpur in partnership with Stellar Mobility, the company said, expanding its retail and after-sales footprint in Uttar Pradesh as it pursues a nationwide network of more than 200 dealerships by FY27.
The newly opened facility is described by the manufacturer as an integrated 3S outlet providing sales, service and spare parts support for the company’s complete electric commercial vehicle portfolio. Vehicles sold and serviced at the Kanpur outlet will be supported by factory-trained technicians and connected to EKA Connect, the company’s proprietary AI-based fleet management system.
“As demand for electric commercial vehicles grows, easy access to dependable service, spare parts, and long-term fleet support remains essential to making electric mobility practical and profitable,” said Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility.
Product range and local services
According to the company announcement, the Kanpur dealership will handle EKA’s range that spans:
- Electric three-wheelers
- Small commercial vehicles in the 1.5 tonne to 3.5 tonne category
- Electric buses
- The EKA 55T heavy-duty truck
The facility will offer routine maintenance, warranty repairs and spare parts inventory, and will link vehicles to the EKA Connect telematics platform for fleet monitoring and predictive maintenance, the company said. Factory-trained technicians at the outlet are expected to handle service protocols specific to the electric powertrains and battery systems used in EKA vehicles.
| Vehicle segment | Examples / notes |
|---|---|
| Three‑wheelers | Last-mile and small goods carriers |
| Small CVs (1.5–3.5T) | Light and medium urban logistics |
| Electric buses | Passenger transport for operators and institutions |
| EKA 55T | Heavy‑duty truck for long‑haul and bulk logistics |
Local implications for fleet owners and logistics
The expansion adds a local option for Kanpur-based fleet operators considering electrification. Easier access to authorised service and genuine spares can reduce downtime for commercial operators and lower the perceived risk of switching from diesel to electric vehicles, industry observers say. The availability of EKA Connect at the dealership also aims at enabling operators to manage vehicle utilisation, energy consumption and maintenance schedules through telematics.
EKA Mobility’s stated national target of more than 200 dealerships by FY27 indicates a rapid scale-up plan; the Kanpur outlet forms part of a broader push into Uttar Pradesh, a state with significant freight and intra-city commercial activity. For a city with large industrial and logistics operations, local after-sales infrastructure may be a key factor in fleet electrification decisions.
Company officials characterised the partnership with Stellar Mobility as intended to broaden sales reach and service capability within the state. The announcement did not disclose investment figures for the Kanpur facility, staffing levels or precise location details beyond the city, nor did it give a timetable for additional outlets in Uttar Pradesh.
As electric commercial vehicles gain traction nationally, manufacturers and dealer partners are emphasising service networks, parts availability and telematics to address operator concerns about operational reliability and total cost of ownership. The Kanpur dealership is positioned as an example of those priorities being brought to a major UP logistics hub.
