Silver Jubilee events span operations, outreach and sports across the islands
Sri Vijaya Puram: The Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC), India’s first and only Quad‑Service Command, has commenced celebrations to mark its Silver Jubilee, commemorating 25 years of joint service, operations and community engagement across the archipelago.
According to the announcement, the Command will observe the milestone with a series of military, welfare, sporting and outreach activities scheduled at locations across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands through September 2026. The programme aims to acknowledge the ANC’s role in defence and also to deepen ties with local communities.
“The Command has remained at the forefront of military operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief,” the release said, noting ANC’s role during the 2004 tsunami and in Operation MADAD, as well as numerous search and rescue missions.
Community outreach and health initiatives
As part of community support, multi‑speciality medical camps will be held at Baratang on 19 September 2026 and at Ferrargunj on 20 September 2026. The camps are expected to offer specialised consultations and healthcare services to residents of the islands.
Also on 20 September, the Command has planned an orphanage visit at Ferrargunj, underlining its stated focus on welfare and assistance to children. An Educational Assistance Drive will run from 14 to 18 September 2026 in government schools on major and remote islands, intended to provide learning support and strengthen links between the armed forces and island communities.

A Silver Jubilee Football Competition will be organised from 15 to 22 September 2026 at Brichgunj, with participation open to serving members of the forces and island residents.
