Surveillance video reportedly captures assault in South Side parking lot
Pittsburgh police investigators are asking for the public's help locating a man they say was captured on surveillance video assaulting a woman on the city's South Side after she left a bar on East Carson Street.
Authorities identified the suspect as Larry Pappy Johnson, 38. Police say Johnson dragged the woman into a parking lot off South 14th Street, where investigators allege he raped her and then left her there.
The victim told investigators she had a drink at a bar on East Carson Street and later awoke in a hospital without her belongings, according to a police account of the investigation. Officers who found her in the parking lot described her as unable to stand; detectives say surveillance footage captured a man holding the woman by the waist because she could not maintain her balance.
