Besides the Chief Minister, the programme will have the presence of several state and institutional representatives including Finance, Planning & Coordination and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, IT and Finance Secretary Dr Parshant Kumar Goyal, IT Director Jeya Ragul Geshan B. (IFS) and Vice‑Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University Dr Gopalakrishna Prabhu. Representatives of AIC‑SMUTBI and other stakeholders are also expected to attend.
What the initiatives aim to do
Government documents and officials describe the three launches as complementary measures intended to:
- Encourage innovation among students and early‑stage entrepreneurs through challenges and mentor support;
- Facilitate employment and skill‑linking for youth under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog scheme;
- Provide acceleration, mentoring and financial support to startups under Digi‑SAPNE, leveraging central partnership with MeitY.
As part of the event, cheques will be handed to startups selected under Digi‑SAPNE 2.0, signalling continuity of funding and support as the programme moves into its third phase.
Why this matters for Tripura
Tripura has been promoting a digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem over recent years to arrest youth migration and create local employment. The launch of Digi‑SAPNE 3.0, with MeitY collaboration, signals continued central involvement in the state’s startup promotion efforts. Officials said the measures are being rolled out during the month‑long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan (September 17–October 17), which the state government is using as a platform to unveil citizen‑oriented welfare and empowerment schemes.
For students and aspiring entrepreneurs in the state, the initiatives could provide access to mentorship, incubation, and early‑stage grant or seed funding, while the Yuba Yogayog scheme is aimed specifically at expanding employability and placement linkages for the academic year 2025‑26.
Programme details and next steps
Officials said the event will be concise, with the main launches scheduled in a five‑minute window before the Chief Minister’s address. The government will release further operational details, eligibility criteria and application windows for the Seva First Innovation Challenge, Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana and Digi‑SAPNE 3.0 after the launch.
Stakeholders in Tripura’s nascent startup ecosystem will be watching for the size and nature of financial support, mentor networks and incubation capacity being offered under Digi‑SAPNE 3.0, and for clarity on how selected beneficiaries under the previous phase will be onboarded into the new cycle.
Officials said the launches are intended to dovetail with wider state efforts to expand digital access and foster technology‑driven entrepreneurship, while using the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan as a delivery vehicle for citizen‑facing interventions.
