District inquiry finds misuse of CRS login; FIR ordered
Saharanpur District Magistrate Arvind Chauhan has suspended a panchayat secretary and ordered the dismissal of a panchayat assistant after an internal probe found they were involved in issuing and subsequently cancelling fraudulent death entries on the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal, officials said on Tuesday.
The suspended employee, identified as panchayat secretary Gaurav Sharma posted at Khanpur Gurjar village under Gangoh block, is accused of sharing his CRS portal credentials with panchayat assistant Sabir. The inquiry concluded that Sabir used those credentials to generate several death certificates and later cancelled them without informing senior officials, the administration said.
Acting on a complaint, the District Magistrate directed Chief Development Officer Sumit Rajesh Mahajan to investigate. Mahajan formed a two-member committee led by District Development Officer Dhirendra Kumar and District Divyangjan Welfare Officer Ajay Kumar to examine the matter.
"Those indulging in wrongdoing will not be spared," the District Magistrate said, underlining the administration's intent to hold officials accountable.

The inquiry team found that Sabir had misused Sharma's login information to both issue and cancel fake death certificates. It also held Sharma responsible for negligence and lack of attention to official duties.
