Student allegedly dragged into car, assaulted near college back gate
Bengaluru — Police on Wednesday said a 19-year-old college student was allegedly abducted and assaulted by a group near his college in south Bengaluru on September 1. The incident, according to the police complaint, took place when the youth stopped his scooter near the institution's back gate to park it.
Authorities said the incident occurred at about 12.10 pm on September 1. In his complaint the student alleged that several men grabbed him and put him into a white car before driving off. The vehicle, police said, later stopped near a bar on Pattanagere Main Road, where the accused allegedly assaulted the victim and caused injuries.

According to the police, after the assault the men dropped the injured student back near the college. He returned to campus and, accompanied by friends, went to Rashtrothana Hospital for treatment. The complaint was filed at Kengeri police station, which has registered a case naming five identified accused and others under sections that pertain to abduction, assault and intimidation, the police said.
