The Milton Police Department has arrested a second suspect in the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Tervon Jackson at Lucille Johnson Park on Nov. 24, 2025, the department announced Aug. 12. Authorities charged Jacari Michael Wright with second-degree murder, saying investigators developed probable cause after reviewing witness statements, surveillance footage and ballistic evidence.
Investigation leads to second arrest
Police say the deadly confrontation began as a verbal dispute that escalated into gunfire at the public park late last November. Officers who arrived at the scene found Jackson dead from gunshot wounds. Earlier this year the department arrested Jayden Jamarco Wright, 21, and charged him with murder in connection with the incident.
In its Aug. 12 release, the Milton Police Department said Jacari Wright fled the scene on foot after the shooting and was later located in a swampy area near Pine and Elmira streets. Two firearms — identified by investigators as a Glock 17 and a Taurus 9mm pistol — were recovered from the water near the location where Wright was found.
"Based on the totality of the investigation, including witness information, (Jacari) Wright's statements, surveillance evidence and forensic examination of the firearm and ballistic evidence, probable cause was present for Wright's arrest," the department said in its release.

According to investigators, ballistic testing by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, combined with local surveillance footage and witness accounts, helped link Jacari Wright to the incident. Authorities have not publicly detailed the exact role alleged for each accused person nor whether the two Wrights are related.
