Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)'s specialised arm for data centres, HyperVault, has announced plans to invest ₹70,000 crore to develop a gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence data-centre campus in the Hyderabad region. The announcement followed a meeting between a TCS delegation led by its CEO and managing director, K Krithivasan, and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at the state secretariat. According to company statements, the campus is expected to generate around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs across technical, construction, engineering and operations roles, and to be ready within 18 to 24 months from the start of development.

HyperVault's managing director and CEO, Deepesh Kiran Nanda, said the campus would be designed for high rack-density compute, liquid cooling, large power blocks and next-generation GPU systems to support AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads. The company pointed out that the facility will target rack densities in excess of 170 kW, a level they say is among the highest globally.

“This will be the first time that India will witness high rack density compute of more than 170 kW. The data centre will be on a par or even ahead of anything that has been built globally,” HyperVault said.

Phased development with green and water-neutral design

TCS said the campus will be developed in phases according to customer demand and evolving technology requirements. The project documentation highlights plans for incorporating green energy and a water-neutral design, reflecting industry trends for sustainable hyperscale computing. The facility will be optimised for GPU deployments and future AI hardware advances.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy welcomed the investment and noted TCS's existing presence in the city. In comments reported after the meeting, the chief minister described the development as part of his long-term vision for Bharat Future City, and urged the TCS team to target inauguration by Telangana Formation Day on 2 June 2028.
