Bengaluru: Two young girls were found dead and their father was found critically injured in a luxury hotel near Kempegowda International Airport on Monday, police said, and investigators are examining a note recovered from the room that referred to a marital dispute.
Police response and immediate findings
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Mithun Kumar, who visited the scene, said the man, identified as SC Imran, a resident of Nagawara Main Road, had checked into the hotel with his two daughters at around 5.30pm on Sunday. Housekeeping staff, who knocked on the door at about 4pm on Monday and received no response, alerted hotel security. On entering, they found the two girls dead on the bed and Imran lying in a pool of blood.
Imran was alive when found and was rushed by hotel staff to a nearby private hospital. He is undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger, according to the DCP. The bodies of the two girls were sent for post-mortem examination.
Allegations and evidence recovered
Police said preliminary inquiries indicated Imran had allegedly strangled his daughters and later attempted suicide by slitting his throat with a knife. They recovered a note from the hotel room in which he reportedly said he had killed his two daughters and mentioned that he was involved in a marital dispute with his wife, alleging an extramarital relationship.
Police suspect the marital dispute and the accused’s suspicion about his wife’s relationship may have driven him to take the extreme step, the DCP said.

Local residents and civic groups in north Bengaluru expressed shock at the incident. Nagawara, a busy corridor that links many tech and residential neighbourhoods to the airport, has in recent years seen an increase in transient hotel bookings by families and business travellers. Police said they are contacting the family members and will probe whether any prior complaints or counselling had been sought.
Mental-health advocacy groups routinely urge early intervention when there are signs of severe marital or family stress, but police emphasised that investigative work will establish the facts and the precise sequence of events before any charges are finalised.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage, hotel records and mobile-phone data, and are following leads based on the contents of the recovered note. The DCP said that further updates will be provided as the post-mortem report and forensic findings become available.
The incident has highlighted concerns about family violence and the need for accessible counselling services in Bengaluru’s rapidly expanding urban periphery. Authorities have not released full details of the victims’ ages or other personal information pending formal registration of the case and notification of next of kin.
Further statements and action on the investigation will come from the Kempegowda International Airport police as they progress enquiries.
