Rail operator boosts services on Butterworth–Padang Besar route for school holidays and National Day
Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) will introduce eight additional KTM Komuter Utara services on the Butterworth–Padang Besar route from 27 to 31 August 2026 to cope with an expected rise in passenger numbers during school holidays and National Day celebrations, the rail operator said in a statement on 24 August.
The extra services form part of a special northern‑sector timetable that raises the total number of daily services on the Butterworth–Padang Besar–Butterworth corridor from 38 to 46.
