GRM Information Management, the Jersey City–based records and digital information management firm, has completed the acquisition of Storage Quarters Records Management of Garden City, N.Y., the company announced.
Regional expansion bolsters New York-area business
The deal adds to GRM’s existing New York–area client base and contributes to what the company described as strong year-to-date revenue growth. Financial terms were not disclosed. The purchase follows GRM’s recent acquisition of FileVault LLC of Charlotte, N.C., completed last month, marking the second transaction in a short span.
GRM provides a mix of physical and digital services, including document storage, pathology storage, scanning, secure document destruction and release-of-information (ROI) services targeted to the health-care sector. The company also works with industries such as banking, higher education, human resources, public sector and entertainment through a combination of its records services and digital platforms.

“Storage Quarters was an expertly run organization that had assembled an impressive list of corporate clients over the course of many years. We’re really pleased to welcome this group of high-quality clients to the organizations that we serve,” said Avner Schneur, president and CEO of GRM.
Digital tools and sister-company integration
The company’s work extends beyond physical records. GRM and its sister company, VisualVault, deliver digital content and process management solutions that include workflow automation and AI-enabled document functions such as auto document classification and data extraction. Those capabilities begin with indexing and assigning metadata to newly digitized files, a process GRM highlighted as central to modern records management.
GRM maintains offices in 15 major U.S. metros and operates facilities in several Latin American cities. The company cited a cross-border footprint that supports clients across multiple industries.

Local implications for Jersey City
For Jersey City, the deal underscores the city’s role as a base for firms serving the broader New York metropolitan region. While GRM did not disclose employment or operational changes tied specifically to the acquisition, the expansion of client relationships in the New York area may translate to increased regional business activity for the company’s New Jersey/New York operations.
Analysts and local business observers often view such consolidations in records and data services as part of a wider industry trend toward combining physical storage with digital transformation tools. GRM’s strategy — combining on-site and off-site storage with AI-powered document management through VisualVault — reflects that shift.
Company leaders framed the acquisition as an opportunity to offer a fuller suite of services to the acquired clients, emphasizing continuity of service and integration of digital records workflows.
GRM’s statement did not provide a timeline for integrating Storage Quarters’ operations or whether any facilities would be relocated or rebranded as part of the transaction.
