Clarets pegged back after Kian Ronan header gives Chelmsford early second-half lead
Chelmsford City were left to share the points after a game that swung in momentum at the Beveree, the side’s 1-0 advantage from the second half cancelled out late on as Hampton & Richmond Borough forced a 1-1 draw.
The result follows a 3-3 draw at Dorking Wanderers and will do little to quieten questions about Chelmsford's ability to turn good spells into three points. Mark Cooper made one change to the starting line-up from the Dorking fixture, bringing Kian Ronan into the XI in place of Manny Egbo.
Chelmsford started positively. Within two minutes Jack Bridge delivered a dangerous ball across the box that George Alexander could only get a touch on as the hosts scrambled clear.
