The city of Frisco will officially unveil Fourth Street Plaza with a grand opening celebration on Oct. 13, city officials confirmed. The plaza represents the final major construction milestone for the Downtown Rail District redevelopment and is intended to serve as an outdoor community gathering space between Elm and Main streets.
Features, finish and public access
According to information posted by the city, the plaza will include covered seating and tables, a performance stage, a lawn with open seating, public art installations, two Rail District gateway monuments and a restroom. City staff said the construction of the facility is complete and the space is open to the public, though site furniture still needs to be installed.

Frisco Parks and Recreation Capital Projects Manager Ricardo Sanchez told the council that construction work is finished and the plaza is accessible to residents, with final elements, such as furniture, scheduled for installation. At a Sept. 1 meeting, council members received a project update that placed the plaza in its closing phase.
“I’m thrilled that it’s finally open, [it's] a long time coming,” Frisco Mayor Pro Tem Laura Rummel said. “I have heard from multiple people that it’s so much bigger than what they anticipated, and that they were really impressed with the space.”
Context within the Downtown Rail District project
Fourth Street Plaza is part of the broader Downtown Rail District Redevelopment, a program that city documents value at more than $80 million. The redevelopment included several substantial components across multiple blocks of downtown Frisco.
