NEW DELHI: Suzlon Renewable Energy Ltd on Tuesday said it has secured a 200 MW wind-energy order from Ayana Renewable Power Ltd for a project to be executed in Limbawas, Madhya Pradesh. The company will supply and install 64 of its flagship S144 turbines, each rated at 3.15 MW, and connect the generation to the MP Power Company Ltd (MPPCL) state grid, according to a company statement reported by PTI.
Integrated devco-led model and scope of work
The order is described as a devco-led contract, an integrated development approach in which the renewable energy supplier manages the full project lifecycle — from early-stage site development and land acquisition to construction, commissioning and operations.
Suzlon said it will execute the Limbawas project through its comprehensive EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) offering, which includes:
- turbine supply (64 x S144, 3.15 MW each),
- land acquisition and balance-of-plant works,
- construction of a pooling substation and extra high-voltage line, and
- commissioning plus operations & maintenance services.
"With 55 GW+ wind potential at 150 metres, Madhya Pradesh is well positioned to be one of the key states which will drive the next phase of India's wind energy growth," Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of Suzlon Group, said in the statement.
Significance for state grid and renewables targets
The project will feed power into the MPPCL state grid. While the company did not provide a commissioning timeline in the statement, the delivery of 200 MW of wind capacity represents a material addition to the state's renewable supply mix. Suzlon also said the order marks its third devco-led wind contract across two states — Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh — and brings its S144 platform past the 10 GW milestone.
Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, highlighted the company's integrated capabilities, saying the approach is already yielding results with multiple orders secured in a short period. Lakshmi Narayanan B, Head Business Development at Ayana Renewable Power, called the project an important milestone as Ayana establishes its wind presence in Madhya Pradesh.

For rural and semi-rural areas around Limbawas, the project could mean temporary construction employment, land-lease income for participating landowners and potential improvements in local power reliability once the plant is commissioned and integrated.
