Third Vande Bharat on Jammu–Srinagar route to boost connectivity; Udhampur stop approved
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has announced that a third Vande Bharat train on the Jammu–Srinagar route will be introduced soon, and the Ministry of Railways has approved a commercial halt at Udhampur in response to strong public demand, officials said.
The minister conveyed the announcement in a video message in which he highlighted the progressive expansion of rail connectivity to the Kashmir Valley since the network's early days. He credited recent policy decisions and major engineering achievements for enabling enhanced rail services and increased tourist movement.
"The Ministry of Railways has approved a commercial halt at Udhampur following strong public demand," the minister said in the message.
