A 23-year-old woman from Fatehabad in Haryana has alleged that she was lured to a farmhouse in Amroha district and gang-raped by two Uttar Pradesh Police officers and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, while a second CRPF member attempted to sexually assault her, police said on Wednesday.

Police rescue, FIR and arrests

Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh Yadav said teams from Hasanpur and Rajabpur police stations reached the farmhouse on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road after the woman managed to contact the police early on Wednesday. She was taken to safety and an FIR was registered on her complaint under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) that include abduction or enticement and gangrape, the SP said.

All four accused — identified in police statements as two UP police officers and two CRPF personnel — have been detained and are being interrogated, the SP added. Legal action will be taken based on roles that emerge during the investigation, he said.

Alleged sequence of events

According to the police account, the woman was contacted on September 20 by a female acquaintance who asked her to meet a CRPF inspector named Mohit for a proposed visit to religious places in Amroha. She met Mohit in Sonipat on September 21, and the three travelled to Meerut, where CRPF Head Constable Lalaram Yadav joined them.

On the evening of September 22, the two CRPF personnel and Mohit drove the woman to Hasanpur. On the way they picked up a UP sub-inspector, Sanjay Tomar, police said. The group then went to a farmhouse on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road and hired two rooms, the complaint states. A fourth man, identified as Pramod, allegedly arranged food and liquor at the location.

The woman alleged that Mohit, Lalaram and Tomar raped her sequentially, while Pramod later entered the room and tried to force himself on her. She is reported to have pushed him away, locked the door and, after searching online for police helpline numbers, contacted law-enforcement at around 6 am on Wednesday.

"Based on the victim's complaint, an FIR has been registered against the four accused under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abduction or enticement and gangrape. All four have been arrested," the SP said, according to police statements.

Immediate action and next steps

Police said the accused are in custody and being questioned. Medical and forensic examinations in such cases are routinely conducted; the SP said the investigation is ongoing and further action will follow depending on the evidence and statements collected.

Broader implications and procedure

Cases alleging sexual violence by men in uniform draw heightened public attention and require prompt, transparent investigation. Officials said the accused will be produced before the court as per legal procedures. The SP's statement indicates that police will proceed on the basis of the evidence gathered and roles established during interrogation.

For victims and families, standard procedure in such cases includes immediate medical examination, collection of forensic evidence, recording of statements under the provisions of law and, where applicable, steps for witness protection. The police statement did not disclose whether a medical examination had been completed; investigators are expected to provide further updates as the probe progresses.

The matter is under active investigation in Amroha district; police said they will take action according to the findings and the law.
