Aligarh — Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh, grandson of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, is set to celebrate a tilak ceremony in Aligarh on 14 November, with the minister and his younger brother Saurabh expected to be married together in Delhi in the final week of November, Bhaskar English reported on Thursday.
Local preparations underway at family residence
According to the report, the family has begun cleaning and renovation work at its Raj Palace residence on Marris Road in Aligarh ahead of the functions. Work reportedly includes cleaning, painting, whitewashing and the laying of new stone. Preparations are also being made on a 100-bigha field along the Aligarh–Ramghat–Kalyan Marg for the tilak ceremony, the report said.
Bhaskar English cited the former MP Rajveer Singh, father of the minister, saying a baby shower and tilak would be held in Aligarh. The report quoted him as saying:
"A baby shower and tilak ceremony will be held in Aligarh."
The publication reported that close relatives, supporters and acquaintances from Aligarh, the Atrauli Assembly constituency and other parts of the state are expected to attend the tilak event, and that invitations are being planned for workers and supporters at booth level.
Wedding plans point to Delhi; details still being finalised
Bhaskar English said the final wedding ceremonies for both brothers are likely to take place in Delhi in the last week of November, with possible wedding dates mentioned as 26, 27 or 28 November. Details of the brides have not been disclosed by the family; however, the report indicated that Minister Sandeep Singh's prospective bride comes from a business family in Aligarh.
The report added that the family is considering a separate reception and possibly a feast in Lucknow. It also said the family may engage a wedding planner, and that arrangements are underway to book catering services and a German hanger for event logistics.

The Kalyan Singh family previously hosted a large wedding in 2018, when the marriage of Purnima Singh — identified in earlier reports as the former chief minister's granddaughter — drew attendance from several national and state dignitaries, including then President Ram Nath Kovind and a number of chief ministers and governors, Bhaskar English recalled.
Bhaskar English did not provide official confirmation from the minister or his office about the final wedding date and venue; it said invitations and logistics are still being finalised. Local supporters in Atrauli and other parts of the district are reported to be preparing to attend the events in Aligarh, where the family's political base has long-standing roots.
As arrangements continue in Aligarh, the events will attract attention not only as family ceremonies but also for their local political significance. Sandeep Singh represents a branch of the Kalyan Singh family, which has maintained a visible presence in the region's political and social life for decades. The upcoming functions are likely to involve a mix of private family members, political associates and local supporters.
Further details on guests, exact venues and formal announcements are expected as the family confirms arrangements, Bhaskar English reported.
