BBC teams to beam Reading Festival across national radio
BBC Music has confirmed extensive radio coverage of Reading Festival 2026, bringing headline sets and festival highlights to listeners over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The corporation’s plans centre on BBC Radio 1 broadcasting live from the Reading site from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August, with further special programming rounding off the weekend.
Radio 1 will carry live coverage led by presenters Vicky Hawkesworth, Nat O’Leary, Minah Shannon and the duo Sam and Danni. The station’s live slots at Reading are set for 10:00–16:00 on Friday and 11:00–16:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. A look-back special will follow on Monday 31 August, when Radio 1 airs a programme from 18:00–01:00 reviewing the weekend’s performances and moments.
